It's not appropriate to monitor some hot issues, regionally and internationally, as only a limited conflict between democrats and republicans in the USA, or a bipolar clash between US and Russia. This is a simplification or (shallowness), and can't explain many statements and attitudes, which may appear strange and totally contradicted, until understood in the real course of things.

The American leaks, by former Kerry assistant, to Israeli newspaper Haretz, about a summit gathered King Abdullah of Jordan, Sisi of Egypt, PM Netanyahu and John Kerry in Aqaba earlier last year, provoked many questions about the details of this summit, the aim of it, the purpose of leakage time about and the goal of these leaks.
1- John Kerry: The ally
It's a good start to agree on all US presidents and politicians, from both parties, were totally friends
of "Israel", sincere allies to the "Jewish state". The difference between them is only about what's good for Israel and the best way in their opinion to aid it.
We can say there're two international teams, clashing strongly, inside US and foreign, to achieve what's better for America, Israel (as mentioned before) and the whole world.
Team A is called Middle West (geographically and politically middle), as I called this team in previous articles. This team believes that best thing can be presented to Israel is "Two-state solution" based on unjust peace treaty with Palestinians, make them all the time under the mercy of the powerful Jewish state, give them an armless state and has no chance ever to liberate the occupied land.
In the opposite, there's team B, (Far west). Which is rightest and in support of settlements, believes that the best solution of Israel to expand in settling in west bank, swallow Jerusalem and the Palestinians there live under the sovereignty of Jewish Apart-hide state "one state solution", or the west bank returns to the rule of Jordan, and the Gaza strip to the rule of Egypt. (Three state- solution)
Existence of Kerry in this summit, from team A, (Middle West), led by Obama, who was described as the biggest supporter of Israel since Harry Truman, according to
Avi Shlaim, Professor of International Relations at the University of Oxford, was a trial to pass their vision to end the struggle, before it gets harder, and waste a chance of gold for Israel

2- Abdullah of Jordan: The tamed
Talking about Israel, we have to talk about Jordan, this country which was recently founded, almost in the same timing of the foundation of Israel, to secure the western borders, the longest among all borders, and the most fearful one for the Jews, as where the Babylonian Exile came from.
In addition, the birth of Jordan, was a necessity of the new "Jewish state", so as not to be in direct contact with two major powerful countries in the region, Iraq and KSA. Subsequently, the new state can concentrate its efforts in only two fronts, the north and the south.
Jordan is a broker in any western move for a particular arrangement in the Middle East. For example, when 18 countries wanted to conduct "Eager Lion Maneuvers", Jordan was the host. And the last time those leaders gathered was in Moscow few weeks before the Russian bloody military campaign in Syria. Every time, the declared reason of their meeting is to discuss how to Fight ISIS.

3- Sisi, the weak
Military coup leader in Egypt can never miss these opportunities, not only for his important rule to secure the southern borders of "Israel", as he previously said he is committed not make Sinai a source of threat to Israel, nor his call for the warm peace with it, but also for his need to be internationally appeared, searching for the legitimate he seeks, under very tough economic and political situation inside.
Sisi listens carefully to Netanyahu as stated before, and do whatever they order in all issues, whatever their demands. When they ordered him to transfer the property of Tiran and Sanafir islands KSA, in order to globalize the passing in bay of Tiran, he did not hesitate, and said "he has received the bullet instead of others"
As the leaks of a phone call of Egypt foreign minister with Yitzhak Molcho, who served as Netanyahu's adviser, showed, the FM was listening carefully to the notes of the Israeli official, asking about some lines Molcho himself added in the agreement with KSA, and FM did not understand!
And when Obama wanted to pass UN resolution which condemns settlement, in his last few days as president, President Elect., who is in favor of Settling, wrote on twitter opoosing tis attitude, and called Sisi in Egypt asking him to withdraw the resolution draft, and Sisi did what he was ordered, hoping the new president to get happy of him, what made Israeli newspaper publish with large font: Thank you Sisi!

4- Netanyahu: the blind
The position of Netanyahu is somewhat complicated! He is the head of the government because of a fragile coalition with rightest extremist parties, such as Israeli home, headed by minister of defense, Lieberman, and "Jewish home" headed by minister of education, Naftali Bennett, both call for greater Israel, from river to sea, supporting settlement, rejecting the two state solution, which warned Netanyahu not to even mention during his late summit with Trump.
Netanyahu is exposed to the pressure of the far right, afraid of their wrath, which causes subsequently the collapse of his gov. coalition, feared of being out of cabinet, over many financial accusations behind him, all of this make him blind, can't see where it leads!
Ex-militaries in Israel have warned Netanyahu from moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, asking the new US president to postpone this move, fearing from the bad Security subsequences Israel can't bear!
And when Kerry offered his plan in Aqaba summit, Netanyahu rejected, fearing of the collapse of his Gov. Coalition. In return, he offered trust building steps with Palestinians in exchange for full recognition or KSA and UAE with the Jewish state of Israel, and US recognition of settlement in west bank.
Israeli leftist opposition criticized Netanyahu for refusing this offer, and believed he has wasted a golden opportunity which may not come again, as this leftist opposition belongs to the team A (Middle west).
So, It's not weird that the leaks of this summit was done by members of that team, assistant of Kerry, to a newspaper belongs to this team, Haretz, to prevent in advance a move from team B, in the opposite direction, may be prepared in the summit between Sisi and Abdullah in Cairo on Tuesday.

Conclusion:
Sisi and Abdullah can't say No to Israel nor USA, in contrary, they seek their satisfaction. As Team B is ruling in both countries, it's likely that Sisi and Abdullah are paving the way for greater deal, contains more concessions, which may be announced in the upcoming Arab league summit.
This deal may contain land transfer with Egypt, to establish the Palestinian state in Sinai, as Israeli minister Ayoob Kara hinted, and as PM himself declared from Washington about the need of a regional greater deal, which, made both Sisi and Abdullah declare they seize the two state solution, and which, I think, will be refused by Israeli Gov., seeking for more concessions as usual!
